All mortgage providers will request a valuation of the property you intend to purchase. They will generally provide a list of approved valuers from which to choose, and you pay directly for this valuation. You should always ask the valuer for a copy of the valuation report for your reference, as their primary objective is to report to the lender.
Your Acumen & Trust mortgage consultant will organise the valuation on your behalf. A valuation costs approximately €`130 and we will cover this cost if you get your mortgage through our company.
This type of valuation is quite superficial, and is purely for the benefit of the mortgage provider, to ensure that the property is worth what they are lending to you. However, it is advisable to request a more detailed survey to assess the condition of the property and identify any structural defects, particularly for older properties.
