A founding director of Acumen & Trust, Colm’s main role is determining and implementing business strategy for the company. He also acts as consultant to individual clients on all aspects of their financial affairs.
Colm previously held senior positions in taxation and investment consulting in Davy Planlife and KPMG.

Director, Sales & Business Development
Conor provides advice to private clients and corporate pension schemes and has responsibility for developing a network of business introducers such as accountants, tax consultants, solicitors and brokers.
Prior to establishing Acumen & Trust, Conor built up a strong track record in investment and pensions consulting with Planlife Advisory Services and Irish Life Assurance.

A qualified tax consultant, David draws on 25 years experience in wealth management and investment and pension planning when advising private clients on their financial affairs. He also specialises in shareholder and business protection arrangements.
Before setting up Acumen & Trust in 1996, David held senior positions in taxation, pensions and financial planning in Davy Planlife and KPMG.

Mortgages Manager
Since joining the company in 2006, Emer has expanded the lending basis for the client property acquisition process. Her role entails working closely with clients and lenders to secure funding for commercial, overseas, investment and residential property purchase.
Previous positions held by Emer include redemption officer in Irish Intercontinental Bank and mortgage broker in Australia New Zealand Bank.

Wealth Management Consultant
David joined Acumen & Trust in 2003 and has developed strong expertise in personal financial management advice and investment portfolio construction. David is experienced in all aspects of financial planning, with particular emphasis on investment advice and protection and retirement planning.
Prior to joining the company, David held the position of senior administrator at Scottish Provident.

Oonagh O’Byrne BEd Dip Psych
Wealth Management Administrator / Consultant
Since joining the company in 2007, Oonagh has fostered excellent relationships with clients and the institutions with which clients invest. Accuracy and efficiency in the processing of client instructions has been key to Oonagh’s success in this role.
Oonagh developed a strong customer service expertise with positions in ACC (New Zealand) and Australian Super. Oonagh is currently pursuing the QFA (Qualified Financial Adviser) studies.

Daniel joined the company in 2005 as a business analyst and now leads the R&D function, with responsibility for development and maintenance of investment programs and product research.
Daniel has a strong background in financial analysis, fund research and asset allocation management, and has previously worked with Arvato Financial Systems and Banca Mediolanum.

Director, Employee Benefits
Ciaran has designed, managed and consulted to a wide range of pension schemes in Ireland, and leads a team that administers, consults and communicates on a wide range of pension and insurance programs for employees. Ciaran is also an experienced trustee and provides trustee services to large and small schemes within Acumen & Trust and on an independent basis.
Prior to joining the company in 2000, Ciaran held senior management positions in Scottish Provident and was pensions consultant to the Irish Pensions Trust. Ciaran is a past President of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers and past Chairman of the Irish Insurance Federation Pension Committee.

An experienced group pensions and group risk administrator, Maeve now manages the corporate pensions team, ensuring the smooth operation of our portfolio of group pension schemes.
Before joining Acumen & Trust in 2005, Maeve gained expertise in the group pensions management area with Friends First.

A key staff member since 2000, Deirdre is experienced in all aspects of pensions administration. With extensive experience in managing administration teams, she now specialises in self administered schemes and compliance, providing full and compliant administration services to members on behalf of scheme trustees.
Before joining the company, Deirdre managed a pensions administration team in Scottish Provident and was senior pensions administrator in Norwich Union.

An experienced pensions administrator specialising in compliance issues, John focuses on the administration of Small Self Administered Schemes for professionals and owner director clients, ensuring compliance with Revenue regulations.
Prior to Acumen & Trust, John developed expertise in compliance and pensions management with Hibernian Group and Friends First.

Employee Benefits Administrator
Jill joined the company in 2006 and now specialises in pensions administration, working with defined contribution, PRSAs, PRBs and risk benefit schemes of varying size. Jill manages enquiries from a range of clients including life assurance companies, client companies and individual pension scheme members.
Prior to joining Acumen & Trust, Jill held administrative positions in Eagle Star Life & Pensions and Chadwick LLP (UK).

Ronan McHugh BPhil
SSAP Administrator
Ronan joined Acumen & Trust in 2007 and is currently administrator of the Self Administered Pension Schemes (SSAPs), where his responsibilities include the setup and registration of new schemes, overseeing scheme investments, providing support to the consultant teams and handling customer queries.
Ronan has a broad-based background in customer support, administration and accounting with Irish and international organisations, including Eircom and Brunel Technical Services (Perth).

Employee Benefits Consultant
Des provides consultancy services to corporate pension clients and self-administered pension scheme clients. He also provides a valuable resource in trusteeship and regulatory matters.
Des has an extensive background in the pensions industry, ranging from pension scheme documentation to corporate pensions advice, trusteeship, investment policy, product design and specialist client advice. He is a Revenue approved pensioneer trustee and teaches in DCU’s postgraduate actuarial programme.

Employee Benefits Consultant
Jennifer draws on her extensive experience in advising clients and their employees on their pension, death in service and disability benefits, in advising the diverse client base of Acumen & Trust. In recent years she has broadened her area of expertise to include health insurance benefits.
Before joining the company in 2006, Jennifer held positions in HR administration and retirement consulting with RTE and Mercer. She recently secured the QFA (Qualified Financial Adviser) designation.

With expertise in defined benefit, defined contribution and risk benefit arrangements of varying size and complexities, Paul ensures the smooth management of the diverse Acumen & Trust client pension schemes. He works closely with clients and external service providers to ensure that clients’ pension needs are met in an efficient and effective manner.
Before joining Acumen & Trust in 2006, Paul gained extensive experience in pension scheme administration in the UK and Ireland. He has successfully completed the Professional Association for Financial Services exams appropriate to his role.

Accounting Manager
A key staff member since 2004, John manages the internal budgeting, accounting, payroll and credit control functions within the company, as well as supervising facilities management and operational procedures.
A senior accounting professional with experience in corporate accounting, business administration and strategic management, John’s previous positions include financial controller in New Ireland Assurance.

An experienced administrator, Ann is responsible for the efficient running of the reception, documentation management and client communications, as well as providing administrative support to company directors.
Prior to joining Acumen & Trust in 2007, Ann was practice manager in the medical field.

Marketing & Customer Services Manager
Ger manages the customer services function within Acumen & Trust, fostering long term excellent relationships with clients and product providers. Ger is also responsible for the marketing and corporate branding functions of the company.
Prior to joining the company in 2001, Ger held senior positions in customer service and marketing management within the telecommunications and financial services sectors.

Accounting Executive
Anna supports the Accounting Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the internal financial management of the company. As well as payroll and invoicing, Anna deals with internal and external clients in responding to accounting-related queries.
Before joining the company in 2007, Anna held administrative and supervisory positions in the tourism industry.
